As Time Goes By....

Residents may have noticed that the Church Clock in the village is currently incorrect. Reminiscent of a scene from the retro movie, the clock is currently 30 (ish) minutes in the past. I have been in contact with the Revd Rob Kelsey and he has advised me that the Church Warden is on the case and the clock repair people are due to visit 'Charlie' in the near 'future'. Rob has also kindly provided some information about the clock and a link for further information. Also check out the Norham Church web pages within this site.

A final restoration [of the church] took place from 1837-52 when the aisles, porch and west tower were built. One final addition was the clock, installed to mark Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887. The clock was known as Charlie after Charles Taylor, who installed it. Taylor is buried at the foot of the tower.
