Last few days of the Pentecost Garden

Writer: Rob KelseyRob Kelsey

We hope that Norham Church will open to individuals from next Monday, 15th June.

In the meantime, if you haven't seen it yet, you have a few more days to visit the Pentecost Garden, created outside the church door by Elizabeth & Peter Thoday and Joan Lawson. It's worth a look!

Joan Lawson explains the meaning of Pentecost as follows:

Pentecost is when the Christian Church began. At Easter we remember that Jesus was killed but rose to new life. Later, he told his disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit and then he was taken up into heaven, At Pentecost (seven weeks after Easter) the Holy Spirit came with fire, wind and a loud noise and the disciples discovered they could speak in many foreign languages. We celebrate Pentecost as the birthday of the church.
