Your Majesty!

As you will be aware Queen Elizabeth celebrates her platinum jubilee this year after a remarkable 70 years as our monarch. A meeting was recently held in the village hall to discuss ideas to celebrate this fantastic occasion. Below is a summary of what is happening over the weekend of June 2nd - 5th 2022.

Please try and take part and enjoy!

ROYAL SCARECROW – let your imagination run riot and make a Royal Scarecrow to celebrate Royal Norham - past ,present and future. Any materials can be used and once created your scarecrow can be on show outside your front door from Sunday 29th May until Sunday 5th June.

VILLAGE LUNCH with entertainment – a picnic-style lunch will be held on Friday 3rd June on the village green/ in the hall. Fancy dress can be worn; there will be music from the band and the choir and there will be a cake!

POST BOXES will be specially decorated and we hope to have decorations and bunting around the whole village. A commemorative tea-towel will be made and an update of the Norham photo census will take place

FIND THE CORGI – search the village to find all the corgis ‘lost’ by the WI

CAKE DECORATION - competition run by the WI. (Cake, did someone say cake!)

A DISCO of 70s music for those of a certain age and a ‘silent disco’ for the youngsters are also being planned. ( D I S C O.. D I S C O!)

ST CUTHBERT’S CHURCH will hold a special thanksgiving and celebration service on the Sunday morning..

Any more ideas and any offers of help will be more than welcome!

Please get in touch however you would like to be involved – norhamvillagehall@gmail.com
