Norham Castle's founder Ranulph Flambard, Bishop of Durham commenced building in 1121, 900 years ago to the year (2021). The last repairs and modifications took place in 1515 over 300 years later. In those years Norham castle was witness to Kings, battles, bloodshed and peace.
To celebrate our castles history 'Project 900' will be a series of events and smaller projects taking place over the next few years. The project will focus on both the castle and grounds, commemorating our history and building for our future.
