Norham In Bloom

Welcome to the Norham in Bloom page. The aim of the group is to provide seasonal floral displays for all to enjoy as well as enhancing the attractive aspects of the environment. We work closely with the clean-up group and natural environment group as one cannot work with complete success without the other. Some of us are members of all!

NORHAM IN BLOOM GROUP

We began our work in 2017/18 when, apart from spring daffodils, there was very little in the way of flowers around the village. Our first task was to raise funds by holding a tea party to buy plants and planters. Since then we have organised beetle drives, open gardens, plant sales and other activities. We received a grant from Northumberland Community Chest to buy tools and equipment. Sponsorship of planters and generous donations of money have been gratefully received. Other donations include a storage shed and 2,500 crocus bulbs that look lovely along the Jubilee Field wall in late February.

We have entered the Northumbria in Bloom competition twice achieving a bronze award the first time and silver in 2021 with a private garden we entered getting silver-gilt. Community involvement is part of the judging and the judges were very impressed with St.Ceowulf's wildlife pond and the enthusiasm of the children.
