I am delighted to report that English Heritage have given us permission to re-open the bridge at Marmion Gate.
The bridge repairs have been carried out by Historic Restoration who have replaced the rotten slats and the railing and the repaired bridge has been passed as safe by the Health and Safety team at English Heritage.
Thanks to all of you for your patience while we have waited for this to be done. I hope it won't be too long before Gate itself and the ramp are replaced.
The Castle will continue to be open every weekend from 10am -4pm.
