On 8th May this year, when we celebrated the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, we were conscious of the fact that, in Norham and elsewhere, many families at the time felt unable to celebrate, while waiting anxiously for the return of their loved ones from the war in the Far East.
Saturday 15th August marks the 75th Anniversary of VJ (Victory over Japan) Day. A short service of commemoration will be held beside Norham war memorial at 11.00am.
