ST CUTHBERT’S CHOIR
St Cuthbert's Choir with the St Cuthbert's Junior Singers would like to invite you to our summer concert on 14th June 2026 at 3pm in Norham Church.
There will be tea and cakes after the concert, which will last about an hour. There will be some excellent singing from both choirs as well as some solos from our very talented group. Our wonderful organist will keep us on track and has even agreed to play an amusing piece himself.
CRAFT AND CHAT
Our thriving craft group is always open to new crafters, just turn up with your latest project and join in. You can find us in Norham Village Hall every Wednesday afternoon between 1 and 4 p.m. There is a small charge of £2 to cover the hall hire and refreshments are included. NORHAM WI
Our next meeting is on Thursday 4 June when we will be hosting Berwick Fire Service as our ‘speaker’ - always provided they don't get a call out, of course! In addition we will have 24 guests from other WI groups in Northumberland and the Borders. The members' competition is something to do with Fire and the theme for the meeting is 'Fireman Sam'.
On Thursday 2 July we have the pleasure of welcoming Susan Brown - who will be speaking to us about Royal Duties and being a Moderator of the General Assembly. The members' competition is Something to do with Royalty or the Church.
On Monday 3 August we will be hosting The Coldstream Riders - further details at the upcoming meeting(s).
On Thursday 3 September we will be welcoming Elizabeth Devon who will speak on James Hutton (Father of Modern Geology & 18th century Farmer) and Siccar Point. Further details to follow.

SILENT AUCTION - SAVE THE DATE!
There is to be an exciting Silent Auction in St Cuthbert’s Church, Norham on 25 July at 6.30 pm. Fizz and canapés and only £5 per ticket!
Celebrated portrait and interiors painter Susan Ryder, member and former vice president of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, has very generously donated this painting of hers to raise funds for the St Cuthbert's project.
Susan is renowned for her paintings of members of the Royal Family including the late Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana!
‘St Cuthbert’s in Autumn’ will be auctioned alongside a number of other exciting lots on Saturday 25 July at 6.30 pm.
Items include:
A fabulous 2 night stay in a tree cabin
A painting lesson with the well-known local artist Rachel Sutherland SSA
A delicious Sunday lunch in The Victoria Hotel
A huge stack of logs
Trees for your garden and a very helpful lesson in flower arranging

Norham Church’s Regular Giving Campaign
St Cuthbert’s Church, Norham, is not only a place of worship, but also an integral part of the life of the parish:
The church marks important moments of life, such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
It is a place of peace, remembrance and reflection.
The church is open daily for residents and visitors alike.
It hosts concerts, exhibitions and community events.
The PCC (Parochial Church Council) maintains this Grade 1 listed building on behalf of the whole community, because we believe the church belongs to everyone.
A legacy has enabled us to invest in a vision for the future – the St Cuthbert’s Project. We aim to improve the church’s heating, lighting, seating, and heritage interpretation, to make it more user-friendly and more useful to the whole community.
We now need to increase our regular giving, to ensure we can meet our ongoing expenses. In 2025 our annual shortfall was over £3,000. We have recently sent an information pack to numerous people connected to Norham Church, who might help by starting a monthly gift, or increasing their regular gift.

Julia Knight - Songs of Joy and Justice
Friday 5th June, 7pm
Quirky musical comedy songs reflecting on life’s ups and downs
Julia Knight is a musician, singer, improviser and psychologist. Her first solo show, “I Am Not Victoria Wood” had sell-out runs at Brighton and Edinburgh fringe festivals. Her second solo show, “Zeit-Heist: more than a feeling” premiered at Dundee Fringe and received 3 award nominations prior to winning an award at Liverpool Fringe festival in 2023!
She is a regular comedy performer of self-penned comic songs on the Dundee comedy circuit and beyond. She lives in Fife, with her husband and her dog, Pepita.

ART EXHIBITION
Local artist Alec Ratcliffe is to hold an exhibition of his goemetric artworks in the Village Hall on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June from 10am – 4pm each day.
“As a pattern artist I use sacred geometry, symmetry and repetition to create designs inspired by nature, mathematics and visual harmony.” Alec Ratcliffe
